About the 2009 Spiritual Life Conference

Everyone prays. Yet, most of us also struggle to know how to pray. Even Jesus' own disciples, though they had been with him for months, longed to know better how to pray: "Lord, teach us to pray..." (Luke 11:1)

The purpose of the Hickory Withe Presbyterian Church Spiritual Life Conference is to focus on an aspect of spiritual formation that is common to all Christians, and offer teaching, discussion, and resources that will build and grow the Christian in that area of spiritual life. The 2009 Spiritual Life Conference is:
Ask, Seek, Knock-- Learning to Pray.

Our speaker is Jerram Barrs, Professor of Christianity and Contemporary Culture at Covenant Theological Seminary in St. Louis, and Resident Scholar for the Francis Schaeffer Institute. Prof. Barrs has written several books, including
Being Human (with Ranald Macaulay) and The Heart of Evangelism. Jerram is also a popular speaker and lecturer, frequently speaking at conferences and retreats. His latest book is entitled The Heart of Prayer.
